Kiwanis Club of Hyannis/Mashpee
“Knome body Knows Christmas like Kiwanis”
Let Christmas take you into the magical world of gnomes’ Christmas. The Hyannis/Mashpee Kiwanis Clubs’ tree is decorated as a legendary, dwarfish creature with a diminutive and magical spirit, known as the gnome. The main focus of our tree is a gnome who is the protector and guardian of the earth’s treasures, to Kiwanis, this signifies the children of the world that our clubs work so hard to guard and protect within our community. The large gnome (the tree) represents Kiwanis, and the smaller gnomes surrounding it symbolize the children of the world. You may notice that there are many gifts around the tree as it is known that a TOMTE is a Christmas gnome that is a gift bearer and is considered one of the Scandinavian versions of Santa Claus. Like the TOMTE, the Mashpee and Hyannis Kiwanis Clubs provide gifts for children and their families so that they may enjoy a magical Christmas.
